Blogging from Brookside in Kansas City: Armour Hills Freedom Parade

Armour Hills Freedom Parade

Really enjoyed seeing all my friends and neighbors today at the Armour Hills Freedom Parade!  The past few years it's been so humid as well as hot--today it was just hot.  As a result I think we had more attendence than last year, also, we started the parade at 10am instead of 9am.   Freedom Parade Armour Hills July 4, 2011

Seeing hundreds of families walking down the Trolley Track Trail with the kids in wagons, strollers and on bikes --well, it was a simple event that celebrated the freedom we all enjoy as Americans.

Special thanks to those local merchants who contributed prizes:  Foo's Fabulous Custard and The Dime Store.  Schwann's donated ice cream, and neighbors brought cookies.  Many people stayed to help clean up--thanks!

Our next big neighborhood event will be the Ice Cream Social in September at Arbor Villa Park. I'll be there!
